I was about half way through my transition from ‘slightly woo social worker’ to full time mystic when I went for a reiki treatment with my usual lady down the road…
Sylvia liked to offer reiki at the end of my reflexology treatments and I had always enjoyed it, relaxing, seeing colours and feeling the presence of departed loved ones in the room. On one occasion, I had seen a dream-like vision of a huge Pegasus. When I looked up the meaning after the session I learned that Pegasus was “a messenger between worlds” and was thought to be able to travel between the earth and heaven. As I’d been having weird premonitions since 2020, this was kind of normal, and also, pleasant. Who doesn’t want to see a majestic winged horse in their meditation?
But this time during the reiki treatment, I was laying still under a blanket on the bed, listening to the flute music with my eyes closed, when I saw in my mind’s eye a woman in a long, white robe, with a flower garland crown, walking towards me. She even had the long classic white hair. I felt myself dressed in the same robe and flower crown, I could feel the band pressed against my forehead as I lay there.
I had read that if you encounter a being in meditation, you should ask what their name is, so I did. “Jennifer”, came the reply. So far so incredibly earth-bound normal.
Later that day, I dutifully googled pictures of ‘woman in white robe, flower crown’ and images of female druids appeared. Yep, that definitely looked like Jennifer. “Meaning of the name Jennifer” I typed in.
“Jennifer is a descendant of the Welsh/Cornish names Gwynhwyfar, or Guinevere, who was druid leader, King Arthur’s wife and means fair one or ‘blessed spirit’.”
Interesting. A druid as a spirit guide? I wanted to find out more…
